The weather is warming up, and talk about wanting to feel and look your best for summer is buzzing all over the internet. Over the last three years I have had so many conversations sharing my health journey. I want to share 5 ways you can naturally detox this summer so you can radiate confidence.‍

Drinking Water

Water is essential. Drinking water will help aid in detoxification and elimination of toxins from the body. Not only will it help your body naturally detox this summer, but water helps with other important functions, including regulating body temperature and brain function, carrying nutrients to the cells, and does wonders for your skin.‍

When it comes to water, our family has been learning more about it on our health journey, and why you need a water purification system. I don’t know about you but I never gave much thought to the water I was drinking. Water is water and as long as it’s clear and didn’t smell than it must be clean, right? Wrong!

To give you the quick cliff notes in this post, water is a ‘universal solvent’, which means it can dissolve more compounds than any other liquid. This means that it can have a LOT of contaminants. Exercise is a great way to aid in digestion, and can be a great way to boost your mood. When it comes to moving your body, I always recommend finding a way that brings you joy.

Never underestimate the benefits of moving your body. It can increase mood, concentration, motivation and memory. when you move your body it helps to produce “feel good” chemicals which can decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression.‍

Can we all agree that sleep is extremely important? It is said that 7-9 hours of sleep each night is a good range when it comes to our overall health. This is a simple way to naturally detox your body this summer without spending money.

Have you ever thought about the brain, and how it releases toxins? After dealing with a brain injury and learning about a family brain disease, I am fascinated with how the brain works. It is said that, “… the lymphatic system is responsible for the clearance of waste from the central nervous system. Sufficient sleep is a necessity for proper drainage of toxins from the brain, with deficiency being associated with many debilitating neurological conditions from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s disease.”‍‍Learning about this was so rad, and as technology continues to develop, it will be interesting to learn more about how our bodies function. Summers can be filled with plenty of activity. Make sure to have fun, but also focus on getting rest.‍
