Well hello, friend!
If there is one thing I believe, it’s that each one of us was created in a unique and beautiful way, with special gifts and talents to bring to the world. But many of us have listened to everyone else telling us how to do things and forcing ourselves to fit into a certain mold if we want to be successful. Yet, we are all built different.
… and it will look different for each one of us, which is truly my favorite part!
You might be obsessed with gardening while others want to be a life coach (Hi, that’s me if you want to work together). Or you want to build an empire while others feel so fulfilled in being a full-time mama.
But can we be real for a minute?
Growing up, I was always being told that I was “unique” and part of me knew that, but there was always a part of me that felt unsure how to step into my gifts and talents especially in a world that screams I have to look and be a certain way to be popular or successful. Have you ever felt that way before?
In 2022 I found a tool that helped me to understand my truest self, and step into who I was made to be! It was like my whole world opened up. I felt so seen, and it was like a blueprint to becoming my fullest self.

Well, lets chat about Human Design!
One of my mentors, Jenna Zoe, explains HD (Human Design) in such a perfect way:
“Human Design uses your birth time, date and place to pinpoint exact gifts, traits, and ideal way of living and being. It is a system that says that first you learn how a person is specifically built, then design their optimal way of being from there.”
I’ll never forget the first time I read about being a Generator, which is one of the five Energy Types within the Human Design system, and it was the missing puzzle piece for me. If this is all new to you, make sure to read through the Human Design blog posts! Your Energy Type is the entry point into Human Design, and the easiest way to get started.
I feel like I have to note this part because of my past growing up in the church…
but, there was a part of Human Design that scared the shit out of me… I thought for sure I was going to hell for even thinking it was fascinating because it uses aspects of the ancient sciences of Astrology, the I Ching, the Vedic Chakra System, and the Kabbalistic Tree of life as well as more contemporary sciences like Quantum Mechanics, Astronomy, Genetics and Biochemistry.
I guess the beauty of my faith “crisis” is that I look at things so different now, and see God(Divine/Source/Infinite Spirit/Bing Bong/whatever you want to call it) woven into every aspect of life, including Human Design. Like how is God not a part of this incredible tool?
So… Either you are now scared of Human Design or you are ready to dive deeper and get started.

How to get started with Human Design?
The first thing you need is your Human Design Chart.
You will need:
- Birth Day
- Birth Place
- Birth Year
- Exact Birth Time
Because Human Design was created to measure your energy at the time you came into this world, you will get a unique chart specifically for you. Even though you are excited, it can look and feel overwhelming at first so let me give you a heads up on what you will see on your Human Design Chart.
You will see things like:
- Energy Type (Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, Reflector): How you are meant to operate in the world
- Strategy: Best way for you to make something happen in your life
- Signature and not-self: Specific sign telling you when you are using your energy correctly (signature) or incorrectly (not-self theme).
- Authority: Tells you how to make decisions in your life.
You will also see incarnation cross, profile and gifts, which are all apart of your Human Design chart, but again, your energy type is the first thing you want to fully understand because it is the starting point with Human Design.
Human Design in fascinating.
Whether I share with friends or my coaching clients, everyone always has some sort of an “ah-ha!” moment. I would say most people realize they had been living as another energy type, trying to fit in with how the rest of the world works, and now they understand why they always felt “off” in life. (I think my projectors have the biggest brain explosion when they learn they are meant to REST a lot even when the rest of the world is telling them to go harder and faster.)
One last thing before we wrap this up; Human Design is an experiment.
You get to learn about your design, and if it speaks to your soul, test it out. See how it feels. Like my mentor says:
“If, and only if, life brings you more gifts, that’s when you are supposed to know in your soul that it is true.”
Don’t let your mind or other people get in the way and tell you what’s right for you.
Play with it. Dance with it. And when life becomes sweeter, you will know in your heart that it was meant for you.
Remember, this is YOUR life. Nobody else’s.
